Understanding the Notch interface
Learn how to expand the notch, what you see when it opens, and how it behaves on external displays.

Step 1
Collapsed state
When collapsed, the notch shows nothing — NotchDo stays completely out of your way until you need it.

Expand with hover
On both your Mac screen and external displays, hover your cursor over the top centre of the notch area to expand. Your tasks appear on the left and cards on the right.

Step 3
Quick add from anywhere
Press both Option keys on your keyboard at the same time to open the quick task add menu without hovering the notch first.

Step 4
Adjust size on external displays
Open NotchDo → Settings → Notch Appearance to change how large the notch appears. Choose Small, Medium, or Large separately for your Mac screen and for external displays.
